Hi everyone!!!
I have recently entered in to the hobby of ham radio, and am looking to invest in getting my own IRLP node. Has anyone had experience with this, and if so, what are your experiences?
Thank you so much,
Chris Harrington

I'm watching this topic with interest as I also would love to know what nodes work well for us blind bats.
There is a piece of technology at http://www.micro-node.com/ which is expensive but a all-in-one.
For speech users there is a dash between micro and node. Hoping some more experienced people weigh in on this topic.

I set up a node about two years back, using the typical CentOS install, standard node board, and two radios custom-soddered to add a serial ptt pin.
I was not able to perform the install without sited assistance.
There were also issues with my ISP's modems and traffic filtering, which should be fixed now.
If anyone's interested, I'll try reinstalling node software on a spare desktop, via Arch or GRML, and giving it a whirl.

For what it's worth, after the install, SSH'ing in and managing the node was a peace of cake.
